Empowering Africa's Next Generation of Learners
Growing up in Africa, I struggled in school. With dyslexia, I was often seen as incapable, not because I couldn't learn, but because the way I was being taught didn't work for me. Later in life, I experienced a different kind of learning, one that adapted to me, not the other way around, and it changed everything.
In a conversation with friends who would later become my co-founders, we realized this wasn't just my story. Across Africa, millions of learners are held back, not by their abilities, but by outdated teaching models and systems that aren't built for their realities.
That's why we started Blanksheet, to give African learners a fresh start, and institutions a smarter, more adaptable way to teach.

From the very beginning, we've believed that the future of African education shouldn't be locked behind expensive, closed systems. That's why we're building Blanksheet with the philosophy of openness at its core - a platform that's adaptable, transparent, and built to last.
Being open doesn't just mean showing our code; it means allowing schools, universities, and developers to customize, extend, and integrate Blanksheet into their own ecosystems. Whether an institution wants to host it on their own servers, adapt the interface to their curriculum, or contribute new features, Blanksheet is designed to make that possible.
We're not here to compete in a crowded "closed" LMS space; we're creating a new category: Open Learning Infrastructure for Africa.
- Control: Keep full ownership of data and infrastructure.
- Customization: Adapt the platform to fit unique learning needs.
- Compliance: Meet local data protection laws and institutional policies.
- Community: Benefit from a growing network of educators and developers.
- Access: Affordable and designed for their realities.
- Security: Confidence that their data is in safe hands.
- Freedom: No lock-in to one provider or platform.
- Contribution: The ability to help shape the tools they use.
